The day before your trek begins you will be brought by private car from Medan airport to Ketambe, stopping for lunch along the way. This will allow you to have a well-rested night before embarking on your adventure. On your first day of trekking, enjoy breakfast at your guesthouse around 8 am. Travel light with a small backpack, leaving the bulk of your luggage in a secure room at Safar's house. Safar will meet you at the guesthouse and provide you with leech socks to put on. This is also a great time to ask any final questions. Everyone should be ready to depart by 9 am. Safar will be your guide, leading you to the National Park entrance and into the jungle, navigating through a network of trails. You'll spend several hours trekking and keeping an eye out for orangutans and other wildlife before reaching a camp by the river for lunch. After lunch and a brief break, venture back into the forest with just your camera and water bottle to explore and spot more animals in the afternoon. If you have a special desire to witness a particular animal or a unique view of the jungle, feel free to share with your Safar or his team.
